God calls every person who is saved through the Gospel. Whether I hear God’s call or not depends on the condition of my ears, and exactly what I hear depends upon my spiritual attitude. The actors and crew who brought to reality the idea of the writer and co-director Hadassah Northe, were all volunteers for two years on a ship called Logos Hope. A vessel with people from all around the world and travelling all around the world.

I am a missionary kid, who was born and raised in Papua New Guinea. This grew a heart and passion for missions.
My brain sees things in pictures and that is how God often communicates with me. The Calling is a picture of my journey with God and finding His heart for His people.
My desire is that people all over will be encouraged to keep God as the priority and fulfil ‘The Calling’ that we all have on our lives as Children of God

Ruben Nussbaumer (France)

After studying audiovisual and multimedia, my job as a documentary producer brought me to India, Madagascar or even Nepal. However, The Calling was my first experience directing a fiction, helping make Hadassah's vision a reality.
I have rarely experienced such a close team work during the whole journey. And I would say that our common passion to see lives transformed through the message of the Bible is very probably the main reason for it.

I've always had a great passion for acting and had the opportunity to play in a couple of other short movies.

When Hadassah told me about her
project, I was really excited and it has been a privilege to be part of it and seeing how God provided everything, bit by bit. He put everything in place!

I studied telecom engineering between France and Singapore, and I have been passionate about graphical art for many years. I especially love photography and audiovisual, because they convey a message that often words cannot express.
I joined The Calling in the middle of the project as photographer on the shooting set. Later on, I worked on the design of the DVD. It was fulfilling to work in a multicultural team to bring this project to life. In return, I pray that The Calling will be relevant for many people, those who can identify with the main character as much as those who find themselves in the swamp.

The Calling was filmed in Denmark and Scotland. It is a story that came to life with the efforts and passion of 50 actors and 25 staff from 24 nations.

The Directors of The Calling have released the movie under a Creative Commons Licence - Attribution No Derivatives. This means that The Calling can be shown in public freely, without asking any permission or paying any royalties. The only limitations are to keep the movie in its original form and to credit the authors of the movie.
This was done with the desire that people can see it and use it. And if you enjoyed the movie or used it in an event, we would be glad to hear from you.
